Hearing Test

The “Pilot License” is awarded to the young patients in a playful manner. This includes the hearing test, which assesses language comprehension. It also becomes clear whether it is possible to apply what has been understood.

Through the headphones, the child hears specific terms such as “teddy bear” and must then show the different terms on a picture board. The volume of the spoken sentences is automatically reduced, and thus the difficulty level of the tasks increases continuously. The test starts at 70 dB HL and proceeds down to 25 dB HL. After the hearing test, the children are awarded a “Pilot License” sticker and proudly leave the practice.

For children of school age, the device is equipped with a tonal audiometer that allows for precise determination of the hearing threshold across eight frequencies. This way, the appropriate test is available for each age group.
